James Sadler - Millennium Teapot 1999
The Millennium teapot is part of a breakfast set which includes a toast rack and mug. These items have the same design to celebrate the new Millennium (Year 2000). Around the teapot are the Roman numerals (VII,VIII,IX,X,XI,XII), this represents an orginal clock face. Along the top collar are clock face decorations and the words The morning after the Millennium before. The words mean that the morning of the New Millennium is the same as the Old Millennium before. A Millennium is every 1000 years, we are in the second Millennium, but the third Millenium will not be until the year 3000. All the designs on the teapot are hand painted onto the cobalt blue glaze.
