Made in the 1930"s, this Japanese Uchikake Wedding Kimono was designed to be worn by both parties as an outer garment during a traditional Japanese wedding. The colors were often rich reds and oranges, with traditional motifs such as embroidered cranes, plum blossoms, pine trees, pheasants, bamboo leaves, and more.
Metallic silk iridescent brocade of red and orange silk decorated with auspicious Japanese symbols and motifs associated with happy marriage, union, long life and children.
Absolutely stunning. Evokes tradition, ritual, joy.
The Robe is very long, and the bottom has bunting of cotton wrapped in silk which makes the long train sit elegantly on the floor.
